About Us

DFW DAMA, The Dallas/Fort Worth Data Management Association, is a DFW not-for-profit association of data resource management professionals with members around the DFW metroplex.

Data Resource Management is the development and execution of architectures, policies, practices and procedures that properly manage the full data lifecycle needs of an enterprise. DFW DAMA is governed by an Executive Board consisting of elected member who are leaders in the field of information management.

Our Mission

DFW DAMA is a not-for-profit, all-volunteer, vendor- independent association of technical and business professionals dedicated to advancing the concepts and practices of information resource management (IRM) and data resource management (DRM). DFW DAMA's primary purpose is to promote the understanding, development and practice of managing information and data as a key enterprise asset. Our objective is to help practitioners become more knowledgeable and skilled in their profession by:

• Defining and clarifying the roles of information and data resource management
  
  
• Educating corporate management by demonstrating how information and data asset management affects corporate performance
  
  
• Sponsoring regional conferences and symposia where industry experts present state-of-art data practices and theories
  
  
• Providing a focal point for addressing issues relating to information and data resource practices
  
  
• Administering academic and professional certification programs for the DRM/IRM professional.
